DESCRIPTION:The SAH has a long relationship with the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and the AACA Hershey Region—more than 50 years—and has regularly attended the annual AACA Eastern National Fall Meet held in Hershey\, Pennsylvania\, during the first full week of October. In fact\, that’s where the SAH was founded back in 1969. \nHershey Week\, as the event is more commonly known\, is one of the largest antique vehicle flea markets and car shows in America. It’s held on the grounds and parking lots of Hersheypark and the Giant Center. The SAH hosts a Hospitality Tent on the flea market Orange Field. \n\nSAH 2026 Hershey Week Schedule\n\nTuesday-Thursday\, October 6-8. Visit the SAH Hospitality Tent on the Orange Field at spaces OBB16-19\, near light poles 113 & 121.\nFriday\, October 9. AACA national judging Car Show is held behind the AACA HQ\n\nBoth the SAH Fall Board Meeting and the Annual General Meeting are held via Zoom\, after Hershey Week. 2027 dates will be announced in the fall.

DESCRIPTION:Our Chin-Wags are friendly\, casual Zoom gatherings to talk about any aspects of automotive and motorsport history. The Chin-wag Zooms last about 90 minutes and typically have ten to twenty participants\, who are free to come and go during each session. We are known to go off into the weeds and down rabbit holes and while there is no set agenda\, participants are welcome to suggest topics or pose questions beforehand. Society and club business are NOT discussed. DeLorean to SAH Leland Chapter members and guests on Saturday\, January 25\, at 1:00 pm at the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum at 100 East Cross Street in the Depot Town section of Ypsilanti\, MI 48197.  Barry will cover DeLorean’s early years at Chrysler and Packard\, his meteoric rise through the product planning and executive ranks at Pontiac and Chevrolet in the wake of the GTO and other cars\, and the DMC project and its aftermath. \nBarry Levine wrote about John Z. DeLorean for the March-April 2023 issue of Michigan History\, the magazine of the Historical Society of Michigan.  A prolific writer on historical subjects\, Barry has also contributed stories for Michigan History on the legendary Dodge Main plant\, Chrysler’s astounding recovery in the loan guarantee period of 1979-82\, and GM’s nearly-overnight comeback from the disastrous 1953 Livonia Hydra-Matic transmission plant fire.  You may also know Barry from his work at The Henry Ford and his volunteer activities with the Yankee Air Museum in Belleville. \nPlease join us on January 25.  Admission to the museum is $10.  Free parking is available at the museum.

Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History in association with the International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) at Watkins Glen\, New York. \nThe Argetsinger Symposium provides scholars\, writers and researchers with an opportunity to present their work on the history of motor sports to peers\, the wider motor sports community\, and to the general public. SUMMARY:Sixth Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History
DESCRIPTION:Sixth Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History\nThe Sixth Annual Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium for International Motor Racing History\, in Watkins Glen\, NY\, was co-hosted by the International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) and the SAH. The open-to-the-public in-person symposium was live streamed at the Watkins Glen International Media Center\, located in the track infield\, thanks to the generous support and technical expertise of Eric Monterastelli of Gran Touring Motorsports. \nTwo full days of presentation sessions included fifteen half-hour individual presentations and one round table discussion. Several Symposium presenters Zoomed from Australia\, Belgium\, Italy\, Scotland and New Zealand. Keynote speaker Buz McKim\, renowned NASCAR historian\, presented “Moonshine and Its Connection to the American Auto Industry.” The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce generously sponsored a recepetion at the IMRRC on Friday evening. \nFor a list of sessions held each day\, courtesy of the IMRRC\, click: Friday\, November 4th and Saturday\, November 5th.  Audio recordings and ideos of each session will be released at a future date. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History\, is scheduled for Friday\, November 4th and Saturday\, November 5th\, 2022\, at Watkins Glen\, NY. \nOver the last several years the Symposium\, co-hosted by the International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) and the SAH\, has established itself as a unique and respected forum and gained a growing audience of scholars\, students and enthusiasts. \nThe 2022 Argetsinger Symposium Keynote Speaker will be renowned NASCAR historian Buz McKim. \nIn conjunction with the in-person sessions held in  the Watkins Glen International Media Center\, the symposium hopes to provide virtual capability to allow remote attendance for a modest fee. SUMMARY:Third European Conference for Automotive History
DESCRIPTION:The Third European Conference for Automotive History will be held at MAUTO\, Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile\, in Turin from 14 to 16 October 2022. The conference is organised jointly by Thomas Ulrich of the AHG in Germany and Anders Ditlev Clausager of the SAHB in the UK. The event is supported by the SAHB and the Culture and Youth Commission of FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens). Seventeen 30-minute English language presentations are tenatively scheduled. \nIf you wish to attend\, please complete the Booking Form and mail or email it to Thomas Ulrich (his postal and email addresses are in the Booking Form). Eighteen half-hour English language presentations were made to ninety attendees from twenty countries. One of the premier European automobile museums proved to be an excellent conference venue. Conference participants toured the archives and preservation facilities at MAuto and visited the Stellantis Heritage Hub in the Mirafiori factory and the Fiat Centro Storico downtown in an original F.I.A.T. building.
