Awards Banquet Chair

Although the 2026 Awards Banquet at Factory One hopes to repeat the success of 2025, the Awards Committee is considering a revolving banquet; i.e. changing locations each year., beginning in 2027. The duties of the awards banquet chair is to secure a date and location for the annual banquet; coordinate ‘auto’ related activities within the region of the banquet; secure hotel rooms with a group rate; book a caterer recommended by the banquet facility; work with the SAH treasurer to determine pricing; secure a speaker for the event; assure that plaques and a banquet program are produced. This position will be open upon the completion of the 2026 awards cycle, immediately after the Fall Awards Banquet.

Awards Committee Chair

The Awards Committee Chair is the central contact for the annual SAH awards. Duties include: forwarding the nominations to the respective chairs; keeping a list of all nominations and award winners; sending out nomination notices and due date reminders [email and social media]; organizing and presiding over the annual awards banquet presentation; providing information for the awards plaque order; filling vacancies in awards panels; managing publicity before and after the awards announcement. This position will be open upon the completion of the 2026 awards cycle, immediately after the Fall Awards Banquet.

Publications/Media Committee Chair

Longtime Publications Committee Chair Tom Jakups has announced he is stepping down as chair, but will remain on the committee. Thus the SAH is seeking a new chair. Responsibilities include the recruitment of editors for the SAH Journal and Automotive History Review and the website administrator, to oversee the development of a policy and procedures document for the various publications, and to work with the editors and other committee members in proofreading the publications. The SAH thanks Tom for his many years of exceptional service heading this important committee.
