Publications

SAH Publications

The Society publishes two journals to serve the community, as well preserve and promote the writing of automotive history.

One of those publications the Society of Auto Historians Journal (SAHJ). The other is the Automotive History Review (AHR).

The two publications come out on different schedules during the year. Members receive both publications and can choose whether to get paper copies, digital copies, or both. Members also have access to the online archives for both the SAHJ and the AHR.

Well worth the prince of admission! Join the Society of Automotive Historians and start getting your copies today.

Serving the Community

SAH Journal

The Society of Automotive Historians Journal was first published in September of 1969 to serve the needs of the SAH community by keeping members up to date with news of people, events, and research.

The Journal still serves the same purpose. It comes out every two months with the latest society news, short articles on automotive history, book reviews, and more.

Members can choose to get digital or paper copies (or both) and have digital access to all back issues. The online archive is treasure trove of information! Check out the sample copies on the right.

Latest Research

The Review

In 1974, The Society of Automotive Historians took a bold step, choosing to publish a journal that wasn’t just another magazine about old cars, but a magazine about automotive research, providing a place and permanent record for the history of companies, factories, designers, power sources, successes, failures, advertising — in short, all facets of automotive history.

That publication was the Automotive History Review, which continues to comes out annually with in-depth articles on automotive history based on original research.

Members get digital or paper copies (or both) and have digital access to all back issues. Another treasure-trove of information! Check out the sample copies on the left and consider joining the SAH.
