Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History

The International Motor Racing Research Center and the Society of Automotive Historians will convene the Tenth Annual Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History at Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel in historic Watkins Glen, New York, November each year.

Although Duke Argetsinger, lead administrator and backbone of the Symposium since its inception, retired from IMRCC in December, 2025, the show will go on! Every year the Symposium has grown its audience and improved the experience for attendees.

Authors, academic motorsport scholars, enthusiast historians, and students are invited to submit presentation abstracts of 200 words or less on topics relevant to motorsports history to be considered for a presentation slot.

National Association of Automotive Museums Conference

SAH members are featured speakers at the National Association of Automotive Museums conference, which moves around the country each year. SAH members participated in the “Education and Museums” roundtable discussions, and have organized and moderated other panels and presentations as well.

Automotive Historians Australia (AHA) Symposium

For decades, the North American and Australian automobile industries have shared components, parts, staff, engineering skills and design expertise, not to mention business and management structures, as well as advertising and trade practices. The result has been the production of many unique vehicles.

The SAH co-hosted a “Wheels Across the Pacific” virtual symposia with the AHA to explore this trans-Pacific automobile history. Streamed live, and free for SAH and AHA members, the symposium was a great success.
