The Fifth Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History took place on Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th, 2019, at the Watkins Glen International race track Media Center, located in the track infield. The Symposium explored the theme of “Writing Motor Sports History.” Some fifty attendees heard a total of fourteen speakers give moderated presentations on a wide variety of motor sports topics. On Saturday afternoon Dr. John Heitmann of the University of Dayton, and author of “The Automobile and American Life,” delivered the keynote address. Dr. Heitmann and several of the presenters concluded the conference by participating in a panel discussion on the same topic, moderated by SAH President Don Capps.
