The Society presents several awards each year in recognition of significant contributions to the publication, documentation and preservation of the worldwide history of the motor vehicle. We have awards for print media), non-print media, papers authored by undergraduate and graduate students, service to the cause of automotive history, and for the historical work of libraries, archives and museums.
Nominations for the 2026 SAH Awards are now being accepted. Benz, Brigham, Bradley, Cugnot–English, Cugnot–LOE (Language Other Than English) and Friend of Automotive History nominations will be accepted through April 15, 2026. Nominations for the Scharchburg are due by June 15, 2026. Send all nominations to Awards Chair Chris Lezotte at sahawards@autohistory.org.
This year, like last, the awards banquet will be held on September 19, 2026, in Flint, Michigan, at GM’s Factory One.
