Every year the Society of Automotive Historians recognizes significant contributions to the writing, publishing, documentation and preservation of world-wide automotive history.

To make a nomination, first read the individual award pages to understand the difference between our award categories. Then send a nomination email to sahawards@autohistory.org.

Your nomination email should include the name of the award for which the nomination is being made, the person, publication or institution being nominated, the name and contact information of individual making the nomination, and one or two lines outlining the reasons for your nomination.

All nominations and email enquiries will be forwarded to the relevant award panel chair.

Nominations for the 2025 SAH Awards are now being accepted. Benz, Brigham, Bradley, Cugnot-English, and Friend of Automotive History nominations will be accepted through April 15, 2025. Nominations for Cugnot – LOE and Scharchburg are due by June 15, 2025. Send all nominations to Awards Chair Chris Lezotte at sahawards@autohistory.org.

Please be aware that most awards are given for work produced or published in the previous calendar year.

Please note that nominees and nominators do not have to be SAH members.
