WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (September 9, 2026)- The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) and the Society of Automotive Historians (SAH) is proud to announce that legendary driver, author, and broadcaster David Hobbs will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2026 Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium, taking place November 12-13, 2026 at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel.
Hobbs brings decades of motorsports experience to this year’s symposium, having competed at the highest levels of motor racing. His extensive career behind the wheel included stints in Formula One, NASCAR, Can-Am, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Indianapolis 500.
Following his retirement from full-time racing, Hobbs transitioned into the broadcast booth, becoming one of the most recognizable voices in all of motorsports. From 1976 to 2017, Hobbs served as a motorsport’s television announcer for CBS, ESPN, and NBC, covering some of the sport’s largest series and events.
“We are honored to have David Hobbs as our keynote speaker at this year’s Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium,” said Joe Schill, IMRRC Head Archivist.
The 10th Annual Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium brings together motorsports historians, authors, students, and enthusiasts to explore the people, events, and developments that have shaped motorsports history.
