Cartercar was famous for its friction‑drive transmission, marketed as offering “no gears to strip.” The SC Coupe represents the company’s attempt to differentiate itself technologically in a crowded early‑automobile marketplace.
The Society of Automotive Historians (SAH) is a 501(c)(3) a not-for-profit organization consisting of a community who preserves and promotes automotive history. Including amateur and professional historians, scholars, collectors, restorers, journalists, museum and library professionals, teachers, educators, and just plain enthusiasts. Membership in the SAH is open to everyone.
