Member Ed Garten is asking SAH members if the car in this family photo [above] can be identified. The story of the photo is as follows: Pictured are my three great-aunts from Sandstone, West Virginia who set out on a “girl’s road trip” in 1930 — from West Virginia to Mexico and back.This photo was taken when they returned from Mexico and had just crossed back across the Rio Grande on a flatboat ferry. The woman to the far right appears to be the flatboat tender. Two of the sisters are wearing huge somberoes to commemorate the adventure.
