Did you know SAH members can borrow books from the Turnquist Library at America’s Packard Museum? You don’t have to go the Turnquist Library, the Library comes to you! The Library has over 4,500 titles, including many book award nominees and winners from the AACA, RAC, SAH, and more. You can also search for images the Museum has digitized from the Automobile Quarterly collection, and read the entire folder listing of what is in the AQ collection. The Library even provides links to its books if they are available online in the HathiTrust, Internet Archive, or other sources.
There is no cost to SAH members except for the mailing. First, please register with SAH leadership, who in turn will provide the Museum with your name, email, and mailing address. You must be an SAH member in good standing. SAH members can borrow one item at a time. Follow the same search and checkout procedures as found on the Library page. The Museum will invoice the SAH member online for the mailer and USPS book rate for shipping. US destinations only. The borrower can reuse the mailer but is responsible for mailing the item back to the Museum. The loan is for 30 days, plus one week each way for shipping, plus one renewal. Only books in at least good condition and easily found on Amazon for less than $250 are eligible for shipping.
The Museum will invoice the borrower for any item not returned.
